About Richard Sarre

Richard Sarre's interest in Yachting dates back to his childhood in Guernsey. In 1983, following his studies at Southampton and a period of training at Alan Buchanan & Partner's Ltd, Naval Architects and Yacht Surveyors, he joined the Hamble based offlce of Cougar Holdings Ltd. In 1985 he was promoted to Design Office Manager and became responsible for the design of high speed pleasure, racing, commercial, and military craft. Since 1989 he has worked on the French coast of the Mediterranean, as an independent naval architect and surveyor within the yachting industry. As such he has been actively involved in the design, project management and yard supervision of new builds and refits ranging from 9 metre yacht tenders to 80 metre luxury yachts. His survey activities have included condition and insurance surveys of both motor and sailing vessels, for private and corporate clients.
